Born in Seattle, Washington, Teri Alexandra Harrigan was born the youngest of four sisters. Her family wasn't that well off monetary wise, but that never seemed to matter to the Harrigan family. As long as they all had each other, that was what seemed to count. Each of the sisters wanted to have their own career and dreams come true: Janie wanted to be a doctor, Stephanie wanted to be a singer, Brittany wanted to be a teacher, and Teri wanted to be an actress. Ever since she was young, Teri knew that being an actress was her dream come true. She wanted to be on TV and in movies, she wanted to have a fun and glamorous life - once she turned ten, her mom Alexandria finally got Teri into some acting lessons, and with help from Teri's aunt in California, she got to go on a few commercial auditions. Teri's views on what the industry would be like when she was a young girl did nothing to prepare her for what it was really like - when Teri first auditioned for commercials, she'd leave each audition feeling that she got the role, and when she didn't she would be devastated. It took young Teri a few times of trying and failing to know that it was okay if she didn't get the role - she just had to keep on trying. So every summer she would return to California and every fall she would go back to Seattle for school.
Finally in 1999, Teri got her break. She was cast in a soap opera, "As The World Turns" as Lucinda Marie "Lucy" Montgomery. She remained on the show for only 27 episodes before things changed between her and the producers - she filmed her last episode in 2001 by the time she was 16, and went on her way. She kept auditioning for shows, but ended up returning to Seattle to finish out high school, and by the time she graduated, another show premiered: "Skin", where Teri played Jewel Goldman. The show was a modern take of "Romeo & Juliet", placing the characters and the families into the world of politics and porn. Teri played the daughter of a pornographer, and even though there was a huge amount of promoting and advertising for the show, it was canceled after only three episodes airing, the rest eventually showing on another network.
Teri was devastated. It seemed like every show she got excited about, something changed. 2006 brought her first big starring role, and after that things opened up for her. Yeah, her career wasn't the amazing a-list career that she had always wanted, but Teri was happy that she was living out her dream of being an actress. She had her fair share of genre films, adn films that were fun to work on, and that was the most important thing to her. If she wasn't having fun, what was the point of it all?
In 2012 she got into doing voice acting and found that her voice acting career was a little more successful than her film career - but again it wasn't anything that bothered her. Through voice acting she made friends and ended up getting two people as best friends that she would do anything for now. She's slowly making her way up the career chain, and even though her career isn't exactly how she wanted it, she's happy. Her personal life? Well that's a completely different story, but no one ever said the course of love ran smooth. Or in Teri's case, not being in any serious relationships was fine, because it's far easier (and more fun) to just have one night stands or flings. Who really needs anything serious? Seriously!
Though, Teri will never admit that is exactly what she wants.
